Purple Mountain Heritage Festival

Opening hearts, minds and doors to the humanity in each of us

The Purple Mountain Heritage Festival (PMHF) is a not-for-profit cultural event that celebrates the heritage and culture of Porterville and it’s surrounds through art, food, storytelling, music, and other creative expressions. Rooted in the co-founders’ lived experiences, the festival provides a personal, inclusive, and authentic space to explore the legacies of colonialism and apartheid with empathy and openness. By offering all events free of charge, involving local creatives, and fostering dialogue through shared cultural experiences, PMHF seeks to re-humanise communities and build understanding across social and historical divides.
