PMAR will be hosting a free arts fundraising workshop, open to individual artists and arts organisations in the Overberg region. This workshop will aim to benefit those who wish to attract more resources to their arts organisations and projects.
The workshop will be conducted by Michael Arendse, a freelance arts consultant and producer and former board member of the National Arts Council of South Africa.

Michael Arendse
After a career lasting nearly 20 years in journalism as a reporter and sub-editor, Michael Arendse went to Perth, Australia where he obtained a BA Arts Management degree from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts at Edith Cowan University. In his final year, he completed a three-month secondment at the Sydney Opera House, working for the national opera company, Opera Australia. Upon his return to South Africa, he joined espAfrika, producers of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, where he was responsible for the training and development division, organising festival-related workshops, master classes and conferences. In 2012, he obtained the MA in Culture, Policy & Management from City St George’s, University of London (formerly City University, London). After returning to SA, he joined the National Arts Council of SA, first as a panel member, before being appointed as a board member. He now works as a freelance arts consultant and producer.
